We're Not Alone

This movement isn’t just about one park or one neighborhood.
It’s about a shared belief: that public land, especially along Florida’s coasts, should remain public—protected, cherished, and accessible to everyone.

Across Lake Worth Beach, residents are speaking up. And across Florida, communities, organizations, and advocates are standing with us.

We are not alone. And together, we’re stronger.

🏘️ Our Community Is Showing Up

From South Palm Park to College Park, from downtown to the west side, neighbors are:

  • Signing the petition
  • Submitting public comments
  • Sharing stories of how they use these parks
  • Organizing meetups, outreach, and public support

People of all ages and backgrounds recognize what’s at stake—and they’re stepping forward to protect it.

🐾 Residents Are Saying…

“This isn’t just land—it’s where I walk my dog every morning.”
“We chose to live near the water because of access—not because we own it.”
“I’d never even heard of this vote until someone told me. That’s not okay.”
“Public space is part of the value of this city. We lose more than we realize if we let it go.”

🌴 Florida Towns That Protect Public Access

We’re not alone in believing in coastal access for all. Other communities across the state celebrate and defend it:

  • Tavernier & Islamorada (Florida Keys): protect roadside pocket beaches with limited parking and clear public signage

  • Delray Beach: maintains open access points between private homes

  • Dunedin & Stuart: invest in waterfront paths, boardwalks, and greenways

  • St. Augustine: actively protects historic shoreline rights-of-way

  • Westerly, Rhode Island (bonus inspiration): even with celebrity neighbors, public beach access is preserved and managed without exclusion

Lake Worth Beach can—and should—join this legacy of coastal equity.

🐚 Statewide Organizations Aligned with Our Cause

These Florida-based environmental and public access advocates share our values:

  • Florida Wildlife Federation [@floridawildlifefederation]

  • Conservation Florida [@conservationfl]

  • Environment Florida [@environmentfl]

  • The Nature Conservancy – Florida Chapter [@nature_florida]

  • Florida Native Plant Society [@flnativeplants]

  • Friends of the Everglades [@friendsoftheeverglades]

We encourage these groups—and others—to support efforts that preserve small-scale, community-owned green spaces along Florida’s coastline.
